Interesting Old Pub

It's hard to describe this one. It is an old early 1900's pub, now converted into a hotel. They have done a great job renovating it, and it presents nicely. The history of the place is interesting, and the owners are friendly, helpful people. It was a pleasant stay for sure. It is also close to the centre of town, so is conveniently located.
Word of caution though - it is an historical building, so you do need to use the stairs to get to the rooms (not sure if there are any on the GF). The wooden floorboards do creak some, and it felt like a bit of a mission getting everything to my room and back. But that's ok. The bed was a little soft for me, but probably ideal for some. Overall it was a comfortable and spacious room though, nicely appointed, and as historical looking as the building itself. My own preference is for a more modern setting, with a more direct motel-room access.

A great place, perfectly restored!

We spent an excellent couple of nights in the Imperial at the end of Feb as a break from motorhome living! We stayed in the Grand room which was very comfortable and spacious containing all you could want. The pool was an added bonus and we made good use of it. The kitchenette upstairs was perfect for preparing breakfast and then there was the choice of dining room or verandah to sit in- verandah every time! Thank you, Cath, for making us feel so welcome and for your concern when the floods came!
