Chill Backpackers Review

I don't normally write reviews, but after reading some of these I feel like I had to have a say. Considering the low prices, and how busy the staff are, this hostel is considerably well maintained in regards to cleanliness. The toilets and shower rooms are cleaned 3 times a day, the kitchen twice. I had a very good experience staying at chill, the staff were amazing and very friendly and helpful. The only negative I would have is how disrespectful and arrogant many of the travelers are. No life skills and no common sense. The staff do their upmost to keep everything in good condition, it feels like most of these comments may be the people causing the issues. Very clean toilets, very clean kitchen, very clean rooms.

chill stay

The staff were extremely welcoming, except for the manager, Jazz (a real stubborn mule). We were evicted without a valid reason or warning. The hostel was dirty, and the room was shabby, small, and uncomfortable. There was no shelter on the rooftop in case of rain, and the kitchen was dirty and too small. The two stars are only for the kindness and helpfulness of the staff, except for the manager, Jazz.

Ok for a night

Receptionists were lovely. Very helpful.
Rooms were small, beds were uncomfortable felt like i was going to fall out. (Being on the top bunk). No room to put things away.
Doors very noisy with people just letting it slam behind them from late into the night. Was more of a visitor centre rather than a hostel.
Bathrooms dirty and small.

DO NOT STAY HERE

We were meant to stay 3 nights here and only ended up staying 1. The rooms are tiny and like a prison with hardly any lighting and they smelt awful. The bathrooms are filthy & mouldy. Theres no where to dry your hands, the showers were cramped and unclean. The walls and doors are super thin so it’s pretty noisy. Wouldn’t recommend.

Not great

Perfect location only 15 mins walk from the main city. The staff were extra friendly but rooms were tiny and the walls are paper thin, so was very loud in even the private rooms. It felt uninviting and cramped but overall was a cheap stay in Brisbane
